REEL EXCHANGE AT COLUMBIA COLLEGE

Reel Exchange is just that. Professional filmmakers join alumni and students to watch and discuss reels in the following areas: Animation, Cinematography, Directing, Motion Design, Editing and Videography. Students are encouraged to bring and screen their work, but are also welcome to simply attend and observe. If you want to show your work at the event, you must call 312.344.7280 to be added to the lineup. Space is limited.

PROFESSIONAL GUESTS:

Marlon West ('85), Visual Effects Supervisor at Disney Animation will lead the animation viewing and discussion. Marlon's credits include: Chicken Little, Atlantis, The Emperor's New Groove, Fantasia (2000), Tarzan and the Lion King.

Carey Lundin is a Director, Writer and Producer currently developing The Spirited Gardner, a TV series and a feature film, Sweet Home Chicago, to be shot in Chicago in 2006 in conjunction with Epiphany Pictures. As a Director, Lundin has garnered awards from the Chicago International Film Fest, The Telly Awards, The Omni Awards, and awards from organizations recognizing her PSA work. She has worked with Wisconsin Public Television, Unsolved Mysteries, ad agencies, Adelstein/Liston - a democratic political consulting firm, Epiphany Pictures and many Fortune 500 companies.

Chip Sineni is a 3D artist with Midway Games whose credits include NHL Hitz Pro, Mortal Kombat: Deception, MLB Slugfest and Blitz: The League.

Alan Thatcher is one of Chicago's most active DPs with 2nd unit and camera credits which include Proof, Light It Up and Stir of Echoes and Cinematography credits including Jeff Farnsworth, Steps, Totally Confused and the Kill Reflex.

Keith Walker ('87) is a Co-Owner and Director of Photography of the Media Process Group. Keith has shot hundreds of broadcast segments for 60 Minutes, The Oprah Winfrey Show, 48 Hours, Dateline and HBO's Real Sports as well as numerous award-winning documentaries, commercial spots and indepenent films.

Declan Quinn is one of Columbia's most prominent alumni. His DP credits include Leaving Las Vegas, 28 Days, Monsoon Wedding, In America, Vanity Fair and Get Rich or Die Tryin' among many others.

Andrew Dryer is an alum and accomplished DP whose credits include the documentaties Bulls of Suburbia, Robben Island Singers, Time Lapse and Culture in addition to several music videos, commercials and narrative projects. Andrew keeps a portfolio site for those interested to check it out.

Donna D'Aguanno has repped a number of prominent directors (Erick Ifergen, Gerard DeThame, Paul Hunter, Peggy Sirota, Sam Bayer, Mona El Mansouri among them), production outfits and post-production companies. Her clients include and have included: A Band Apart, Cut + Run Editorial, Bazooka Graphics, M-80 Films, Rhythm & Hues, and many others.

Ted Lega is a Producer, Director with one of Chicago's most prominent production houses, Eightball Films. Eightball produces music videos and nationally broadcast tv commercials. Ted has been a frequent guest at Columbia and good counsel to young directors on how they can and should be presenting their work.

Qadree Holmes, is the producer half of a producing / directing team that make up the core of Line 9 Films here in Chicago. Specializing in ad production Qadree and Jeff Marpe, Line 9's Director, are also involved in feature and documentary projects. Jeff's film Hunter's Moon was recently picked up for distribution.

Andrew Ryann is a Senior Producer / Director / Editor with Pixel Brothers here in Chicago. Deep in experience with corporate and commercial projects inlcuding work for the Oprah Winfrey Show, Inside Edition and PBS, Andrew currently splits his time between Chicago and LA developing several TV series and pilots.

Jay Vinitsky ('95) is Vice-President for Post Production at New Line Cinema. His credits include post supervision and coordination on the feature films Pleasantville, Lost in Space, Final Destination 1, 2 and 3, King's Ransom,ÊElfÊand Wedding Crashers.

Lisa Masseur, Executive Producer (and others) with RADAR Studios will join the Reel Exchange to share their thoughts on post reels. A look at their own company reel will show some recognizeable work for some of the world's biggest brand names.

Digital Kitchen, is undoubtedly one of Chicago's (if not the world's) most recognized names in motion design. DK will have several members of its creative team in attendance: Anthony Vitagliano (Designer/Animator), Linas Jodwalis (Art Director of 3D), Noah Conopask (Associate Creative Director), Camm Rowland (Designer), and Rick Thompson (Senior Designer/Animator). Their past work includes clients such as HBO, FX, ESPN, Showtime, XBOX, Sony, Nokia, Budweiser, Coke, and more.
